Hill Street Gallery is a curated art space located at 65 Hill Street in Catskill, NY. The gallery was established by fine art photographer Bruce Byers and his partner Jeanne Byers, with a mission to showcase compelling visual work that bridges history, place, and technique.
Though Bruce founded the gallery, he is not its sole focus — he is one of the artists represented by the gallery, alongside others working in photography, illustration, printmaking, and ceramics.

You’ll find Bruce Byers on the streets and out-of-the-way places of the world, photographing people and places. A professional photographer for over 40 years, he is passionate about using his camera as an emotional lens to capture beautiful, surprising, and unexpected moments.

Bruce Byers – Worldwide images
Photographer Bruce Byers has spent more than 50 years quietly capturing life’s most fleeting, heartfelt moments. As the world rushes by, his lens pauses — noticing what most overlook: a child’s wonder, an old man’s quiet thoughts, the joyful reunion of long-lost friends, or a fleeting juxtaposition that disappears in seconds.

The human face tells the greatest stories. I travel the world in search of those stories.

I have been collaborating with creatives to develop campaigns and projects around the word. Corporate headshots. If you don't see it here go to my stock gallery at

We are waiting for what is going to happen in Cuba. We hope to go to Cuba in Feb of 2027

There are many moments in your life that you are too involved with your child to capture. Let me collect some of those moments for you.

I have created a set of Poker Card of "Moments in Time" and "Cuba" images. They are a great selection of 54 cards for sale. They will be numbered and signed.
My life has been lived behind the camera. For more than 60 years, photography has been the way I see, understand, and connect with the world. It has taken me across more than 35 countries, where the world itself has become my studio. Working with clients, artists, communities, and travelers, I have created an archive spanning decades—one built not just on photographs, but on relationships, experiences, and stories worth preserving.
I don’t like creating the same photograph twice. I am always looking for the next place, the next person, and the next story. My work has taken me from major advertising campaigns and commercial assignments to remote villages around the world. Along the way, I have built a body of work that includes advertising, commercial, travel, fine art, and mission photography. Each has taught me that the strongest images come from building trust, taking the time to observe, and allowing the story to unfold naturally.
Photography has always been my way of telling stories. Since the 1970s, I have used still images, books, film, and video to document the people and places that have shaped my life. Every photograph on this website represents more than a moment in time—it carries with it a story, an experience, and a memory waiting to be shared.
